We're alive

Oninnaise here with OpenShores' first log!
It's been a while since Shores of Hazeron had a server you could actually log into, so it's probably time I wrote something about what I've been doing to remedy that problem.
OpenShores is an ongoing effort to reboot the multiplayer experience by reimplementing a server for the game. It's very early, but currently playable enough for people to connect and test.
That said...
Where are we now?
Quite a bit of the basic game is already working. Right now you can:
- Create an account, log in, and create and resume a character
- Have multiple players connected at the same time, and interact and chat with each other
- Walk around planets and explore them
- Generate galaxies and solar systems, including geology, plants and animals
- Drive and fly ground vehicles and space fighters
- Found and manage an empire, including members, titles, options and permissions
- Found a city
There's still a lot missing, but it's a good slice of the game. Most of the city is still not functional, vehicles don't sync properly yet and spacecraft are still a long way's off.
What's next
I'm actively working on fixing the known bugs, testing the current version with the community and recruiting people who are willing to help with the project. In addition to that, the community has been hard at work to create a community launcher to make it easier to connect to third party game servers and to apply community patches.
Everything goes to GitHub under MIT as it lands: https://github.com/EdinHalilovic/OpenShores.
Thanks to everyone who's already tested this, put up with restarts, and dug up old Hazeron files and screenshots.
